  • Classrooms for the Future Install Begins

    On Tuesday, the PDE grant installation team is on site to begin mounting the Polyvision boards, unboxing laptops and generally kicking off the mammoth installation of Classrooms for the Future gear. Over the next four days the tech team and PDE team will install and setup 60 interactive whiteboards, 450+ laptops and 60 data projectors.

  • Casper Training is Not Spooky

    This week several members of the tech team are at the High School receiving training on a set of software tools collectively know as the “Casper” suite. Casper is a sophisticated tool designed to make the process of computer setup and software maintenance much easier for technical staff.

    At the January 7th school board meeting, Steve and I delivered an update on the forthcoming organizational changes to the district technology team. Because our search for a district database specialist was unsuccessful, we have devised a new plan.

  • Hosting Local Digerati

    Today Penn Manor hosted the Lancaster Lebanon IU13 Technology Directors meeting. Technology leaders from surrounding districts were onsite to hear presentations on our technology program, infrastructure, current projects and overall system platforms.   • Teacher Tech Accomplishments

    2008 is starting off with two bangs. First up- Tina Shank, FCS teacher at Manor Middle School has learned that she is the recipient of a $5000 Student Achievement Grant from the National Education Association. The grant recognizes her innovative uses of technologies such as Moodle and laptops to enhance student experiences with business communication.
