Internet Safety Programs Recognized

I’m very pleased to announce that Penn Manor’s ongoing community Internet Safety workshops and presentations have received the PA School Business Officials (PASBO) 2009 Award of Achievement. The Information Technology team was recognized for the constellation of Internet Safety initiatives spanning the past three years. Some of these initiatives include:

Student presentations – both assemblies and Girls’ Night Out sessions
Internet Safety curriculum at the K-8 level
Numerous parent/community workshops
Ongoing staff/faculty professional development workshops
A unique Cyber-partnership with Millesville University

Additionally, the MU-PM Cyber-partnership is being recognized by Millersville University‘s Civic and Community Engagement and Research Project (CCERP) Center.

Interested in learning more about Internet safety, privacy and security? If so, please join Dr. Nazli Hardy and Charlie Reisinger for a special presentation: “What the ‘Twitter’: Educating and empowering yourself to be savvy and safe online”, Monday May 18th at 7PM in the Millersville University Student Memorial Center Multipurpose room. The presentation is free and open to the public.
