Kicking Off New Business Software

Today Chris, Judy, Steve and I spent about 6 hours meeting with the team from Tyler Technologies. The focus of the session was to kick-off an implementation plan for the transition to a new financial software platform: Munis. Fresh on the heals of the major migration to the Sapphire Student Management System, the new Munis platform is poised to help streamline district business functions while offering new levels of HR and payroll information access to employees via a self-service portal. Like Sapphire, Munis will require a significant gestation and planning period leading up to an actual live implementation. The working launch date for core accounting, AP and general ledger functions is January 1, 2008. Payroll should be cut-over to the new platform on April 1, 2008 (no joke!)
